It's Not too Late to Enter $30,000 Student Sustainability Competition With $30,000 in cash prizes to be awarded to the top three winning teams, the Students First Sustainability Competition is an opportunity for student teams to show their commitment to sustainability at the University of Arkansas. An informational meeting is being held in the Union Connections Lounge from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 28. Teams must be a minimum of two people and a maximum of eight. The competition is focused on challenging students to devise practical innovations to address the environmental and energy problems of the 21st century by greatly reducing the negative environmental impact of their campus, especially the university’s carbon footprint. Awards for the competition are substantial: $15,000, $10,000 and $5,000 will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, respectively. Funding for the awards is being provided by the Honors College. A team registration form, the complete rules and regulations and other related competition information may be downloaded here.
