Sustainability in Action
Three global business experts will talk about their sustainability projects with the University of Arkansas campus on April 19.
FAYETTEVILLE,
Ark. - The University of Arkansas Sustainability Speaker Series will present
three global experts who will talk about their sustainable business practices.
It is the third in a series of speakers on sustainability and is open to the
public. The program is sponsored by the Supply Chain Management Research Center
in the Sam M. Walton College of Business and the Office of the Vice Provost for
Research.
When: Thursday, April 19, 3 p.m.
Where: Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development
Vijay Sharma, business head of Project Shakit,
Hindustan Lever Inc., will discuss how business objectives and social
development objectives can be aligned and how innovation in business processes
can help achieve a sustainable way to do the same. He has 10 years of sales and
marketing with Hindustan Lever.
Jack Linard, scientific and regulatory affairs,
Research and Development, Unilever, will address Unilever and sustainable
agriculture: growing for the future. He holds a doctorate in inorganic
chemistry from Northwestern University.
David Pendlington, sustainable agriculture coordinator,
Unilever, Rotterdam, Netherlands, will address formulation and packaging issues
for Unilever globally. He provides support, guidance and facilitation to all of
Unilever's global sustainable activities.
